My minicollection of one of a kind engagement rings is here as a way to experiment with a new style or to use materials that are impossible to buy in multiples (like one of a kind stones) and for you to get something unique that no one else has.

This ring is built around beautiful and large Ethiopian opal. I used construction similar to a traditional cathedral engagement ring, raising the stone a bit, adding shoulders and a decorative circle around but I did it in my style. The whole ring is bulkier than you would expect from an engagement ring (although not too much, just having a nice weight to it) and instead of a circle of side stones around the main stone, there is dark patina and some gold granules and dust, similar to my Gold Chaos rings.
The rest of the ring is shiny polished.
For a balanced look, I added two tiny yellow sapphires in gold bezels on the shoulders.

Metals: Sterling silver, 18k yellow gold.
Main stone: 7.5 mm round Ethiopian opal
Side stones: 1.5 mm round yellow sapphires (2)

This is one of a kind ring, only the pictured ring is available.

Dimension:
Top part diameter: 12 mm
Bezel diameter: 8 mm
Band width: 3 mm

Please note that Ethiopian opals are hydrophanes and react with water. This stone will get more translucent when wet (soaked) and returns to a more opaque look after drying out (several hours if fully hydrated). This doesn’t hurt the stone. If you don’t want this to happen, don’t allow it to sit in water for a longer time. A quick wash is fine. It can also soak chemicals in and these can be damaging, so avoid contact with any chemicals (cosmetics, cleaning chemicals) or coloured liquids. Also, avoid contact with strongly chlorinated water and saltwater.
