Sterling silver necklace with huge and colourful Australian Opal

I wanted to choose as big an opal as possible without compromising on quality.
This opal is 23 x 12 mm big with nice flashing blue and green fire!

It is an opal doublet – a thin layer of natural genuine opal is backed with a dark rock to show the colours. In this case, the rock is boulder opal matrix which makes the combination similar to how opals are found in nature. It also makes the stone more durable.
